"The new decade has introduced us, the Humans, to an invisible, silent WME (Weapon of Mass Extermination). The Corona Warrior (CW) has bared its fangs and the Humans have been forced into a strategic retreat, locked into their houses. Those who dared to venture out have been consigned to their graves. The CW does not discriminate, rich/poor, powerful/weak, old/young, man/woman, all are decimated alike with equal swiftness. The following images are telling.
Corona Warrior
The hypothesis is that Corona has been unleashed as a WME by some anonymous power which has the ability to shield its self against the threat. Why this hypothesis? Well we are aware of the simple ripple effect theory, and that the wavelength of ripples increase as the distance from the center increases. In this case the maximum effect (refer pictures) has been seen in Europe and North America, but that is not where the Coronavirus was reported first!! So, if the hypothesis is true, lets analyze the major impacts of this WME:
- Instill fear and uncertainity in the minds of the target population. Force them to practice isolationism, both within its area (containment zones) and from the outside world. Worst hit with uncertainity is the school going, graduating to seek a job and the daily wage earning segment of the population.
- Demonstrate the will of this anonymous power and introduce a new paradigm in the calculus for determining world order amongst the comity of nations.
- Bring the world economic machinery to a grinding halt, particularly in the target population area. In the mean time the nature has cleaned its air and water and other species have found a breathing space.
- The traditional war machinery and military has been made redundant, more so because the enemy (CW or the anonymous power) is unidentifiable and has no face. The target population/country has not been left with the option of even repaying in equal measure.
- The inablility of Humans to control its spread has introduced the concept of social distancing (enforced so far only in the battlefield by descending shells)! So much against the natural tendencies of the social animals that the Human beings are. The magnitude of its effect is yet to manifest in Human relations.
- Humanity needs to express its gratitude to the creators of the digital world, which lies immune to the threat of CW. Smart companies will reinvent the way they will do business in the future.
- The govts in power have been shaken out of their slumber to revamp their decrepit health care system. Doctors and Health Care workers are designated the new soldiers , and rightly so because they face the prospect of death in the line of duty.
What does the Crystal Ball say?
Surely, sooner than later, a vaccine will emerge. Till then we live in fear of becoming a victim of the CW. Living in fear and anxiety has a great psychological impact on Human behaviour. Till then we can never have the proverbial ""all hands on the deck"", we can have only 50% hands on the deck to ensure social distancing. Should there be a reason for a person to be in close proximity of a large group to accomplish an important task, he will do so in morbid fear and remain fearful for next 14 days till he proves not to have become a victim of the CW. Such scenarios will galore and Human behaviour will adapt to it and change the way we are used to living so far. The bigger worry is a repetition of this scenario and a new strain of virus attacking Humanity. There is definitely a need to foolproof our lives and ways of conducting business as well as deter such powers that advance their interests unscrupulously, exposing and killing millions of human lives. Lets handle the two issues, one by one:
Future Proof our Lives
Current CW attack is an event of mammoth proportions, very different from previous epidemic outbreaks, since it has been deliberately unleashed, or so is my hypothesis. Few suggestions:
The Planet Earth
- Let's not keep growing exponentially. In a natural way, growth of any species is controlled by the nature with the food it makes available to that species. For Humans, this limitation has long been overcome initially by paddy plantation and subsequently by creating abundant food and Govt interventions. Since Humans are more intelligent than other species, we must control our growth rate ourselves and share the planet Earth with other species.
- Businesses prospering on consumption are to share the blame for our growth rate. State policy intervention is required to put reasonable restraint on such businesses.
- Limit exploitation of Natural Resources, cutting of forests, polluting air and water bodies. Influential groups must wake up to this idea and impress upon Govts the world over to bring in appropriate legislation for this purpose.
How we make a Living and Live
- The term ""Growth""/""Growth Rate"" has pushed Govts and Companies in an hyper upward moving spiral of activity. Businesses are pursuing growth at a break neck speed, putting untold pressures on man and material. This CW attack has given us time to pause and review. If we do not mend our ways, we will be in the same boat the next time too.
- Material World, a foot tapping number is also a bland statement of fact. Materialism has overpowered us. Excess of anything, including being materialistic is bad. Lets practice it with frugality and share the space with spiritualism.
- That ""Poverty is a curse"" is well known. This epidemic has pushed millions into poverty. Those who have borrowed heavily and survived on credit cards, in technical terms, 'were living a leveraged life', are now finding themselves in troubled waters. Learn to live within your means. Better still save for the rainy day.
- There is no place for Daily Wage Earners in such times. They can survive only in fair winds. In troubled times, they experience unprecedented hardships. They are an important cog in the economical wheel. There is a hundred percent need to insure such people from calamities of this proportion.
- The graphic on impact of COVID 19 on various sectors is an indicator for your field of profession. Services are the worst hit. Choose your profession carefully. Information Technology has come to the rescue of businesses. If your job can be done from home, its COVID proof!!
- Personal health and hygiene, hygiene of the place where we work and live and the people who help us in maintaining it are of utmost importance. Industry and business should grow in this segment and policies should support these ventures.
- Insure yourself. Don't leave your loved ones insecure, should something happen to you.
- The term ""migrant (pravasi)"" has gained currency. The lesson is that keep your family with yourself at the place of your work
Deter Such Misadventures in the Future
The issue is global in nature and all affected parties need to come on board to find irrefutable proof of the perpetrator of this pandemic and bring him to book.. Well that's easier said than done and such an exercise may or may not happen. However, if the future attacker knows that his target population may be immune to another strain of a virus he is about to unleash, he may find it to be a futile exercise. So lets work on what we can do:
- The Virus attacks the immunity system. Any virus would follow the same method to destroy its host. So build your immune system. Animals (Bats for sure) live without being affected by this Virus. Humans can too if we have similar immunity or antibodies.
- Proximity and Touch are two main routes for the CW to propagate itself. Hence the clarion call is that we need to change our mannerisms to contain the spread of the CW. Stay away and don't touch.
- Trump and Modi, both have talked about self dependency. Well there is no other way if Nations have to survive long periods of isolation from each other."
